This week's Glorious Getaway comes in the form of a converted, circa 1893 schoolhouse in New York's Catskill Mountains, the Hillside Schoolhouse. Opened in the quaint town of Barryville, New York in the summer of 2013 by former city dweller Bronson Bigelow, the space still includes pieces from its prior lives as a schoolhouse and chapel, with design details like the original slate chalkboard, stained-glass windows, and original millwork. There are just two guest rooms here, but both are big and comfy, with king beds, oversized windows and skylights, bath products by C.O. Bigelow (America's oldest apothecary), and free WiFi. And, if you fall in love with the place, you can take a piece of it home from the shop with furniture and home goods restored and created by the inn's proprietor. Rooms start at $200/night and reservations can be made here.
